We announce the final four – We have our Betsafe Driver!
The competition has come to it’s end – but really – everything has just started
It’s over now! But actually it has just started. What an amazing competition you have made for us!
Hope you all are joining us for our coverage of the Gumball 3000 this year. Together we can make it AWESOME! Thank you guys! These are the final four winners in our Betsafe Driver competition.

CONGRATULATIONS IVAR! YOU ARE OUR BETSAFE DRIVER! What can we say? Ivar, Ivar, Ivar. The efforts this man has put in to drive the Gumball 3000.
Once a winner was decided, we set up a meeting with Ivar who was in Oslo (he had been to a Metallica concert the evening before). We told him that we only wanted an interview, put him in a chair, and made him read a letter.
Mails, newspapers, newssites, radio, fan pages
Ivar has single handed e-mailed over 500 companies to ask for their support just to be able to compete in the Gumball 3000. He has been on Norweigan radio, in newspapers and on websites.
He has created a Facebook Fan Page that has close to 1000 members. As an early contestant Ivar for a long time looked to take the “vote victory” easy. Only to be knocked down at the end. That didn’t throw Ivar off though. As he was the first one to hit 1000 votes we sent him some Gumball clothes and right away he went to a Porsche dealer to make a photoshoot.
Andrew was probably one of the Betsafe Driver contestants who put the most efforts in to his movie. I mean how can you not love a movie that has explosions. No other movie had explosions in them. FIRE! If Andrew won, he promised us that he would make a Betsafe and Gumball tattoo on his arm.
Andrew, we still hope for the tattoo. In fact – we will pay the tattoo, and videotape it. That’s a part of your prize if you want it to be. But you’ve also won 2 VIP tickets to the Gumball 3000 final party in New York. Hotel and travel is on us as well. Party hard and make us proud in true Betsafe style Andrew!
We are super excited to have contestants and fans like all you guys. Hope all of you stick around with us for a long time – we appreciate your company!
Johan made the video that stood out the most perhaps. Not a car anywhere near the movie. Just Johan and 40 Gumballs. Stories say that he actually lost a tooth in the making of this movie. Is that true Johan? Johan used his own site Ostfrallan.com (a video community) to drive loads of traffic and votes to his entry.
Looking at the statistics of the Betsafe Driver site. Johans entry was the one who had the most hits. Johan is also the one who won “the people’s vote” since he actually collected the most votes. We will be sending Johan with two VIP tickets to Stockholm to keep an eye out there for us, of course he will have hotel and travel expenses covered. Sounds like a plan huh Johan?
Paul, or Paulski as he likes to call himself is one of the most engaged contestants of course (all in the top 10 have really shown awesome skills in spreading the word and leveraging tools of both traditional and social media). Paul is a movie maker with dangerous skills, and we sure hope that he will want to help us out to shoot some totally rad stuff during the Gumball’s legs in Canada. Also, he will be able to shoot some of the stars in the bars as we hand him 2 VIP tickets to the Quebec event AND 2 VIP tickets to the Toronto event. Hope that suits you well Paulski!

That’s it. We don’t know what else to say. Can’t put all the thank yous (as in many thank yous) in words. Overwhelmed is what we are. What happens next?

Betsafe i’m afraid the tattoo can only happen if I do the Gumball, thats the deal & i’ll stick to it but I would love to do plenty of filming & can even use my brothers editing skills to create some great content for you guys.

For a simple contest such as this one, we can go to far lengths to achieve something that we have been dreaming for a very long time. Thinking that we would never be able to take part in the Gumball 3000 until we were in our late 40’s or 50’s, we actually have an opportunity NOW! Our Film Maker Paulski came in 4th place!
