Team Betsafe is happy to present another topathlete to the team. This time you will get to know the kitesurfer Nick Jacobsen.

- Hello Nick, Can you give us a short introductions about yourself?
- My name is Nick Jacobsen, I am 23 years old and I´m a kitesurfer. I started with kitesurfing in SouthAfrica 2003. I decided to go there after I finished ninth grade and wanted a year without studies.

- I chosed Cape Town since my father lives there.

Nick tells us that he loved Kitesurfing from the first day on the sea and that he couldn´t quit thinking about it. He decided to be as good as possible.

- The plan was to make Kitesurfing something I could live on. I was not afraid to tell my parents, but I was a little bit afraid that they shouldn´t support me. I thought about how I could combine kitesurfing with other interests if my parents didn´t support me.

- I bought a videocamera and a program to edit movies. I stayed in Cape town for seven months. During this time I kitesurfed as much as possible and made some movies about it.

When Nick got back from Cape Town he had learned the editing program quite good and also got Quicksilver as a sponsor for his kitesurfing. This made him wanna continue with his kitesurfinglife.

- I really wanted do this, so I started a course in video editing online at the same time as I travelled around the world. This is in fact what I still do these days. I travel around the world and record nice movies about kitesurfing. I´m also helping others to take good photos and make great movies.

- What have you achivied since you started with kitesurfing?
- I´ve made myself a name both in my homecountry and around the world. It doesn´t matter if you are in Brazil, Africa or Denmark, people know my name. It´s been tough to reach this far and I´ve travelled a lot and made a lot of movies. I´ve also made a lot of articles for magazines and taken many photos to show how good I am.

- What is your plans for the future?
- My plan is to continue to travel around the world as much as possible. I want to make new movies and articles from the whole world and keep my sponsors updated. I will also compete in a Kitesurfing competitions in Denmark. The competition will be hold in a couple of cities and my goal is to defend my firstplace for at least five more years.
