Two brothers – two different nations
Brothers Jerome and Kevin-Prince Boateng is going play in the World Cup. Nothing strange there, what’s strange is that they will play for two different nations. They will face eachother in the Ghana – Germany game in the group D of the World Cup in Johannesburg on the 23rd of June.

The elder of the brothers, Kevin-Prince is on Ghana’s squad while his little brother Jerome is playing for Germany. Ghana and Germany will play eachother already now in the group stage. This is the first time ever that two brothers is facing eachother in the history of the FIFA World Cup.

Kevin-Prince has got a bad boy label
Kevin-Prince is a attacking midfielder with German citizenship but his father is from Ghana. Kevin-Prince has actually played for Germany at the under-21 level but didn’t see a future at full international level and applied to be a citizen of Ghana instead.

This story got even more interesting in the very last match of the (club) season as Kevin-Prince Boateng put in a harsh foul on Michael Ballack. The bad tackle put the German team captain out of the World Cup. An action that has had the young player having to face a storm of criticism. But Kevin-Prince says he never meant to hurt the German player:

- Let me say first of all how sorry I am that Michael can’t play at the World Cup. I never meant to hurt him, and I apologised to him on the spot. It was just a late challenge, nothing more.

Brazil, 29th if June, 1950 – England is the Kings of football
