… that Mario Gomez is the most prolific scorer in the Bundesliga this season?
There are many stars in the Bayern Munich but probably one of the brightest one is Gomez, who has scored 15 goals so far this season. He was unstoppable last season, finishing as the best scorer with 28 goals (0,9 goals per game). This year after almost half of the season he tallies about the same ratio per game.
Gomez has gone on a pitch in the starting eleven 15 times and scored at least a goal in seven games. His most impressive game was against Freiburg, when he scored fantastic four goals and Bayern celebrated victory 7:0. He had a great night against Kaiserslautern as well, scoring three unanswered goals.

Then we have Dutchman Klaas-Jan Huntelaar from Schalke 04 and FC Koln striker Lukas Podolski, who have scored 14 goals each. One of Werder Bremen’s key players Claudio Pizarro tallies 12 goals.

… that Jaromir Jagr has won the Art Ross Trophy five times?
The Art Ross Trophy is one the most prestigious awards, which is given to the leading point scorer of the NHL’s regular season. And the Czech star has achieved this success five times, when he was playing for Pittsburg Penguins.
Jagr received his first Art Ross Trophy in a shortened season 1994-1995, when he scored 70 points. As a Penguins’ star he was the league’s leading point scorer in four consecutive seasons from 1997 until 2011. He scored 102 points in season 1997-1998, 127 points in season 1998-1999, 96 points in season 1999-2000 and 121 points in season 2000-2001.

After three campaigns in the KHL’s team Avangard Omsk 39 years old Jagr returned to the NHL before this season and currently is playing for the Philadelphia Flyers. He tallies 11 goals and 29 points so far and is ranked the third most prolific point scorer in his team but is quite far behind the league’s leading point scorer Claude Giroux (43 points).

Manchester City has not lost a single game in the league this season, and no other team has scored as many goals (48) as they have so far. Will The Blues beat Roberto Mancini’s team as the first team in Premier League?

… that the Boston Bruins 15 games’ stretch without a single regulation loss has came to an end?
Boston had a bad start of a season, winning only three out of ten games. But after the loss on November 29 in Montreal against Canadiens (2:4) Bruins won 14 out of 15 games. Bruins didn’t loss in a regulation during this stretch and the only loss came on November 25, when they lost against the Detroit Red Wings 2:3 in shootout.
Winnipeg Jets was the team, which stopped Bruins on December 6, when Bryan Little scored a winning goal an Jets took the victory 2:1. This means that Boston earned 29 of a possible 30 points and climbed up to the 2nd place in the Eastern Conference.

… that Marseille notched the Ligue 1 title in 2010?
Marseille share the first place with Saint-Etienne as the most titled Ligue 1 team. The both teams have notched ten titles and the last one for Marseille came in 2010. No doubt that Marseille is one of the best French teams in last seasons. They finished as runner-up in 2009 and in 2011, falling behind champions Lille by eight points margin at the end of the last season.
Climbing on the standings
Marseille was among favourites before this season but right now they are placed only the ninth. Before some games the things for Didier Deschamps’ men were even worse, as they were fighting to avoid from staying in the bottom of the table. Marseille had a bad start of the season, winning only one game from the first ten fixtures, but now the team has experienced the resurgence. They have won four out of last five games and made great impression against the top team Paris Saint-Germain on Sunday, defeating them 3-0 at Stade Velodrome.
Tonight Marseille face Caen in an important road game. Can they get three points and cut the gap with top teams?

Sidney Crosby made his comeback to the NHL last week. And after just 5 games he stands on 11 points.
After almost a year away from playing icehockey Crosby made his comeback against New York Islanders. And in that game he scored 2 goals and also got 2 assists. Sid the Kid is back!
Pittsburgh is one of the strongest contenders to win the Stanley Cup this year, and with Crosby on the ice they have a new weapon.
